| The Mission of San Juan Capistrano's four-bell campanario which were erected a year after the bell tower was toppled in the 1812 earthquake. |
Dear brothers and sisters,
This is the mission of San Juan Capistrano in the Diocese of Orange. This is one of the Missions founded by Blessed Junípero Serra, OFM.
Bishop Tod David Brown, Fr. Binh Nguyen and I spent most of Saturday afternoon there. Msgr. Art Holquin was a gracious host and explained to me the history of the Mission and its witness of the faith that continues to this day. I will return there next month for my official portrait for the Diocese of Orange.
Thanks to all of you for your prayers and support these days, especially those of the Diocese of Fort Worth and the Diocese of Orange. What follows are the statements of Fort Worth and Orange, and my reflection from the press conference.
God bless you and thank you all,
+ Bishop Kevin W. Vann
