Before I move on to some more serious reflections for December 24th and 25th, I would like to pause briefly and share with you some of the music of the season of the Birth of Christ. St. Augustine, I believe, once said that "Music is a fair and glorious gift of God." Certainly, music is part of the daily life of both Advent and Christmas. We can see this in their liturgies as well and perhaps more so than some other times of the Church's year.

What is presented in the video clip below is a recording of my 1922 Cable Nelson player piano, which I have owned since 1967. About two years ago it was rebuilt by Leon Speir of Dallas. The music is on two new rolls of the QRS Music Roll Company in Seneca, Pennsylvania. I hope you enjoy them.
